For more than two decades, NBC Universal’s award-winning “The More You Know” campaign has been educating the public, raising awareness on important issues and inspiring Americans to take action. “The More You Know” has made an unprecedented commitment to health and wellness, given the current spotlight on the myriad of health issues we face today. The multi-platform campaign addresses topics such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke prevention, physical activity and nutrition. 

To keep current on issues of national concern, "The More You Know" relies on the guidance of a national advisory board consisting of government, community and education leaders. The board is instrumental is developing effective messages that address the nation’s most pressing social issues.

“The More You Know's" objective has remained the same since its inception more than twenty years ago - to provide viewers with critical information that affect their lives by becoming a part of the solution. NBC was the first television network to create a public service campaign to help address the critical need for teachers. In 1989, “The More You Know” hit the airwaves, featuring some of NBC’s most memorable faces such as Bill Cosby, Brooke Shields and Tom Brokaw, with impactful teacher recruitment and appreciation messages that reached millions. Since then, hundreds of stars from the NBC family have shown their commitment and creativity to this important initiative. This season, the following talent have participated in “The More You Know” campaign: Jimmy Fallon (Late Night); Alison Sweeney (The Biggest Loser); Christopher Meloni, Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: SVU); Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation); Brian Williams, Dr. Nancy Snyderman (NBC News); Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez (Chuck); Ali Larter, Masi Oka, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Greg Grunberg (Heroes); Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson (Law & Order); Bethenny Frankel (Bravo/Real Housewives of New York City); Mark Feuerstein (USA/Royal Pains); Carl Quintanilla (CNBC/Squawk Box); Ana Maria Polo (Telemundo/Caso Cerrado); Ming-Na (Syfy/Stargate Universe).
